Aerobic H2 production related to formate metabolism in white-rot fungi

نویسندگان

چکیده

Biohydrogen is mainly produced by anaerobic bacteria, fungi, and algae under conditions. In higher eukaryotes, it thought that molecular hydrogen (H 2 ) functions as a signaling molecule for physiological processes such stress responses. Here, demonstrated white-rot fungi produce H during wood decay. The fungus Trametes versicolor produces from aerobic conditions, production completely suppressed hypoxic Additionally, oxalate formate supplementation of the culture increased level evolution. RNA-seq analyses revealed T. TCA/glyoxylate cycle was down-regulated, conversely, genes encoding metabolism enzymes were up-regulated. Although involvement in gene annotated an iron hydrogenase uncertain, results organic acid supplementation, expression, self-recombination experiments strongly suggest plays role mechanism this fungus. It expected novel finding biomass will open new fields biohydrogen research.

Dibenzyl sulfide metabolism by white rot fungi.

Microbial metabolism of organosulfur compounds is of interest in the petroleum industry for in-field viscosity reduction and desulfurization. Here, dibenzyl sulfide (DBS) metabolism in white rot fungi was studied. Production of ligninolytic enzymes by cultures of white rot fungi.

Some Basidiomycota were chosen for studies of key ligninases synthesis (25°C, 30 days) in modified medium (shaken or not cultures) with added wheat straw. Liquid Czapek medium with straw yielded a higher amount of laccase than peroxidase, ground straw induced enzyme worse than chopped straw. With peroxidase the reverse dependencies were observed. Laccase of Lentinus edodes synthesized two enzym...

Mechanisms of degradation by white rot fungi.

White rot fungi use a variety of mechanisms to accomplish the complete degradation of lignin and a wide variety of environmental pollutants. Both oxidative and reductive reactions are required for the metabolism of both lignin and environmental pollutants. The fungi secrete a family of peroxidases to catalyze both direct and indirect oxidation of chemicals. The peroxidases can also catalyze red...

Selection of White-rot Fungi for Biopulping*

Different rates of wood decay and ligninolytic activity were found in wood decayed by various white-rot fimgi. Chemical and ultrastructural analyses showed wood decayed by Coriolus versicolor consisted of a nonselective attack on all cell wall components. Lignin degradation was restricted to the cell wall adjacent to hyphae or around the circumference of cell lumina. Decay by Phellinus pini, Ph...

Synthetic dye decolourization by white rot fungi.

Synthetic dyes are integral part of many industrial products. The effluents generated from textile dyeing units create major environmental problems and issues both in public and textile units. Industrial wastewater treatment is one of the major problems in the present scenario. Though, the physical and chemical methods offer some solutions to the problems, it is not affordable by the unit opera...
